Your mission

You'll pave the path for smooth operations by taking charge of bookkeeping, accounting, administration, banking and finance. This includes:

Bookkeeping

  • communicating with our external bookkeeper (delivery of quarterly reports, salaries)
  • communicating with our ERP supplier
  • configuring and maintaining ERPNext, serving as our ERP expert during the roll-out of a new version
  • monitoring and reporting project progress to Swiss grant/funding agencies

Finances

  • collaborating with international tax authorities
  • working with, improving, and monitoring our financial projections,
  • defining financial metrics
  • supporting financing rounds
  • optimizing tax

People and Team Care

  • handling social insurances
  • spearheading classical HR tasks such as holiday, accidents, and sick day reporting
  • collecting and reimbursing team expenses

Your profile

  • Solid past professional experience: a minimum 5 years of experience in handling all finances of a SME or start-up
  • A desire to take an active role in improving business, people, and administrative processes; not just "going through the motions"
  • Bonus points: experience with startup fundraising rounds or grant reporting and management

Requirements

  • Languages: Professional fluency in English & German. Further languages are a bonus.
  • Location: Swiss resident with a valid working permit.
  • Remote work: Flexibility is there, yet must be able to travel to Bern once every two weeks for our team day and mail processing.
  • Level of employment: 40 - 60%

Compensation

  • Salary range: 60'000 - 85'000 CHF (for a full-time equivalent).
  • We determine salary depending on a transparent compensation model that accounts for geographic location, market value, and peer-reviewed competency.
